Facebook has suffered more than enough. Although sales skyrocketed on a level where it defeated Google, the big, blue social media giant had a “hot & cold” relationship with its users.
From experimenting with their users in terms of emotions to forcing of messenger apps, Facebook had a hard time pleasing their audience. Personally, I thought Facebook would never be able to recover from their flaws. Until one day, Facebook made this single step that regained their lost audience. And guess what, you can also use this strategy in your market.

The vital step that I was a talking about was Mark Zuckerberg’s live question and answer portion.
Recently, Facebook creator and CEO Mark Zuckerberg held one of the most memorable even in the history of Facebook. He held a live Question and Answer portion which was live streamed on Facebook. Of course, almost everybody grabbed the chance to ask Zuckerberg some (controversial, funny and entertaining) questions. I mean, it’s one of a lifetime experience to ask one of the world’s biggest companies and social networking site in the world. Who couldn’t just ignore this one time opportunity, right?
Almost 9 thousand (as of the time I was writing this article) questions are posted on the Q & A with Mark’s Post. Some of them asked very serious questions about Facebook’s privacy issues. Some asked about the forceful installation of the messenger app while some others sent their biggest remarks and thanks to Facebook’s “man of the hour”.

So, how did this Q & A helped Facebook regained its Audience?

1. It connected with people

Let’s think this down for a moment. Since when did Mark Zuckerberg last “connect” to his audience? As far as I know, this was the first time since Mark gave the chance to let his Facebook users speak up to him personally. Knowing your audience’s perception about your brand can help you pick which actions should you execute next.

2. Mark showed his “personal” side

Being more personal is just one of the ways on how your brand could connect again to your audience. Remember, you are still human. Don’t let your brand take-over your perception. Just like what Mark says on his Q & A - Stuff is going to bother you because you’re human. I was human. I mean, I am human still.

3. It gave his audience a “voice” to speak

Not letting your audience speak out is just plainly wrong. Giving them the chance of spilling their hearts out about Facebook clearly shows how the social media site is concerned to its users.

So fellow marketers, you don’t need to hold a public conference in order to perform the Q & A portion. You could simply ask questions to your audience through posts or personal message. Feel free to use any mediums.
It might look simple, but a Q & A portion could really change the way some of your lost viewers feel towards you.
Remember, marketing is all about you audience. As much as possible please them, and make sure that they feel very special about your brand. With that, I can assure you that you will be able to generate more traffic and sales.
